Where it fits in your sequence
- Takes out the scratch pattern left behind by plated diamond grinding, then carries the stone through to polish.
- A sequence that works on most flats: 30 → 60 → 280 → 600 → 1,200, then your usual polish on a canvas pad.
- Hard material, or deep saw and lapping marks, may want a coarser plated lap first or an extra grit step or two.
Which size fits your machine
- 4 inch — Pixie, and any larger machine
- 6 inch — Genie G2, CabKing, other 6 inch cabbers
- 8 inch — Titan Gem Maker, CabKing 8, other 8 inch grinders
- 12, 16, 18 and 24 inch — commercial flat lapping machines

Each grit has its own color, so you can tell the discs apart on the bench.
