Both machines run six wheels on a 1" bore: two hard wheels for grinding and four soft resin wheels for smoothing and polishing. The Genie takes 6" x 1 1/2" wheels. The Titan's stock wheels are listed at 7 5/8". Any 1" bore wheel of the right size mounts with no bushing. The two hard positions take our nickel bond or sintered wheels in place of the stock Galaxy wheels. The four soft positions take our SuperNova wheels, and worn soft wheels from either machine can be sent to us for resurfacing. Hard wheels cannot be resurfaced.

Hard positions and soft positions
The six positions split into two jobs, and they are not interchangeable.
Positions 1 and 2, the grinding wheels, 80 and 220 grit. These are hard wheels. They do the shaping: taking the stone to outline and dome. The machines ship with Diamond Pacific's Galaxy wheels here, but any hard wheel of the right size and bore goes in these positions. There are two kinds: nickel bond, where the diamond is held in a nickel layer on the surface and cuts fast until that layer wears off; and sintered, where the diamond runs through the depth of the rim so the wheel keeps cutting as it wears down.
Positions 3 to 6, the Nova wheels, 280 to 3,000 grit. These are soft resin bond wheels. The diamond is held in a flexible resin layer over a soft backing, which lets the wheel conform to the curve of the cab. They take the stone from shaped to pre-polish. This split decides what you replace each wheel with, and whether a worn wheel can be resurfaced. See bond types.
Replacing each position
Positions 1 and 2, hard wheels. None of these can be resurfaced.
| Wheel | Genie (6") | Titan (8") |
|---|---|---|
| Our nickel bond hard wheel | 6" x 1 1/2", 80, 100, 180, 220, 360, 600 grit | 8" x 1 1/2" or 2", 36 to 600 grit, plastic or steel hub |
| Our sintered wheel | 6" x 1 1/2", 1" bore, 30, 60, 80, 100, 200, 270, 600 grit | 8" x 1 1/2", 1" bore, same grits |
| Diamond Pacific Galaxy, the stock wheel | 6" x 1 1/2", 80 to 360 grit | 8" x 1 1/2", 80 to 220 grit |
To match the stock 80 and 220 positions with our nickel bond wheel, order it in 80 and 220 at 1 1/2" wide.

Positions 3 to 6, soft wheels. Resurfaceable, any brand.
| Wheel | Genie (6") | Titan (8") |
|---|---|---|
| SuperNova | 6" x 1 1/2" | 8" x 2" |
| Diamond Pacific Nova, the stock wheel | 6" x 1 1/2" | 8" x 2" |
SuperNova soft wheels are made in our Orange, CA warehouse, in the same four grits the machines ship with and in 60, 140, 220, 325, 8,000, 14,000, 50,000, 100,000, 200,000, cerium, chrome and tin.

Mixing brands is fine. A SuperNova wheel fits the same 1" bore at the same width as a Nova wheel, and you can run them in the same set. Replace the wheel that is worn and leave the rest.
Mounting
No bushing. Both machines take a 1" bore, and SuperNova wheels are 1" bore. The bushings that come in the box are for other machines; keep them if you ever change.
Genie: each side of the motor carries an adaptor shaft, one with a right-hand thread and one with a left-hand thread. Note which side is which and keep the wheel order when you pull them off.
Titan: wheels mount on adaptor shafts. The stock wheels are listed at 7 5/8". Our 8" wheels are a full 8.0" across and fit under the Titan's stock hoods.
For shaft sizes on other machines and how to measure yours, see Arbor and bore sizes.
The end disc
The Genie ships with a 5.5" canvas pad and the Titan with a 5 1/2" Nova disc at 14,000 grit. Our SuperNova disc is 5.5" with a 1/4"-20 screw back, in 280, 600, 1,200, 3,000, 8,000, 14,000 and 50,000 grit. Diamond Pacific's own Nova disc is sold in the same 5.5" size with the same 1/4"-20 screw.
Resurfacing worn wheels from a Genie or Titan
When a Nova or SuperNova wheel from either machine wears smooth, it can be resurfaced instead of replaced. Send the wheel, without bushings, and it comes back in about a week.
| Wheel | Resurface | New SuperNova |
|---|---|---|
| Genie, 6" | $39.95 | $79.95 |
| Titan, 8" | $49.95 | $99.95 |
Prices from the live store, 2026-09-29. A Titan wheel listed at 7 5/8" is resurfaced at the 8" price.

A worn soft wheel. This is what we resurface.
Change the grit while it is here. If your set runs 280 to 3,000 and you want a 14,000 or 50,000 wheel for a higher polish, send a worn 3,000 back as a 14,000. There is no charge for the change. See changing grit when you resurface and resurfacing Nova wheels.
What we do not take: the Galaxy wheels in positions 1 and 2, or any other hard sintered, nickel bond or electroplated wheel, and any soft wheel worn through to the core. If you are not sure what you have, call 714-771-7007 before you ship. See when a wheel is scrap.
Extending the grit range
The stock sets stop at 3,000 grit on the wheels, with the final polish done on the end disc. If you want higher grits on wheels, SuperNova comes in 8,000, 14,000, 50,000, 100,000 and 200,000. On a six-position machine, adding one means giving up a position or keeping a second set to swap in. A worn wheel can also come back from resurfacing in any of those grits. For the full order, see grit progression for cabbing.
Questions we get
Will your 6" wheels fit my Genie?
Yes. SuperNova 6" x 1 1/2" wheels have a 1" bore and match the width of the stock wheels. No bushing.
Can I resurface the Galaxy wheels?
No. Galaxy wheels are hard nickel bond. Resurfacing applies to soft resin bond wheels only.
Can I resurface Diamond Pacific Nova wheels, or only yours?
Any brand of soft resin bond wheel, including Nova wheels from a Genie or Titan.
My Genie is older. Are the wheels the same?
Check the wheels before ordering. Measure the diameter and the shaft, and read the grit off each wheel. If a wheel has been swapped, the position may not match the table above.
Do I need to replace all six wheels at once?
No. Replace or resurface the wheel that is worn.
